TOKYO, 12 June 2026 — KAGAMIAI Holdings Co., Ltd., a group subsidiary of NEXYZ.Group Co., Ltd., has launched the first proof-of-concept (PoC) for building its IP/AI Co-Creation Infrastructure together with the globally recognized sports IP Captain Tsubasa, owned by TSUBASA Co., Ltd. (TSUBASA), and PixVerse, a global AI image and video generation platform.
This PoC rolls out in conjunction with the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on June 11, enabling soccer fans worldwide to experience the world of Captain Tsubasa through AI-generated videos on PixVerse.
This anime was what made me start playing soccer. I loved that anime and wanted to become Oliver. — Fernando Torres, Spain national team / FIFA World Cup winner
Captain Tsubasa Begins Moving Through Generative AI on PixVerse
The manga Captain Tsubasa, created by Yoichi Takahashi, began serialization in 1981. The series has surpassed 90 million copies in circulation and has been translated into more than 20 languages worldwide, making it one of the world’s most iconic sports IP franchises.
Many professional soccer players have credited Captain Tsubasa as a formative influence on their careers. Fernando Torres has said the manga was what made him start playing soccer, while Lukas Podolski called it one of his greatest inspirations since childhood. Alessandro Del Piero expressed his affection for the series on his official website, Andrés Iniesta became an official ambassador for the Captain Tsubasa game, and Hidetoshi Nakata named it the biggest inspiration behind his decision to pursue soccer professionally.
Captain Tsubasa has always been one of my greatest inspirations since childhood. It is an honor to support Japanese soccer manga and its unique culture. — Lukas Podolski, Germany national team / FIFA World Cup winner
Its influence has expanded even further in the social media era. On TikTok alone, related content has surpassed 3.1 billion total views, while hashtags related to #TsubasaOzora have exceeded 1 billion views, establishing overwhelming popularity among younger generations.
Saudi Arabia’s Manga Productions acquired the distribution rights and launched a reboot. In a 2019 survey on Arabs’ views of Japan conducted by Arab News and YouGov, 75% of respondents named the series as their favorite anime.
For this PoC, TSUBASA will utilize PixVerse — a highly rated video generation platform ranked among the top tier on the leaderboard published by Artificial Analysis, an independent third-party evaluation organization. PixVerse operates in more than 177 countries and serves over 100 million registered users worldwide. In March 2026, the company completed a Series C funding round, achieving unicorn status and gaining recognition for both its advanced technology and high growth potential.
Through this PoC, the Captain Tsubasa IP managed by TSUBASA will be integrated into PixVerse’s image and video generation functions, enabling users to create original Captain Tsubasa content.
What Is KAGAMI Gate (Patent Pending)?
KAGAMI Gate functions as a “ticket gate” for intellectual property usage in the AI era. Similar to highway toll systems or stock exchanges in financial markets, it quantifies in real time who used which IP, within what scope, and under what conditions, thereby enabling transparent license management and revenue distribution.
Rather than relying solely on legal enforcement against AI creations and secondary usage, KAGAMI Gate introduces a new approach by detecting how IP is learned and utilized by AI and protecting brands through proprietary generation controls.
In this PoC implementation, the system will accurately monitor IP usage on PixVerse and quantify how much each AI model or agent utilizes particular IP, thereby achieving highly transparent usage management. At the same time, generation controls aligned with the intentions of the IP holder (TSUBASA) and the original creator will manage the range of content users are allowed to generate — including commercial secondary usage, fan-created content limitations, and whether monetized publishing is permitted — protecting the brand.
